sf-slack<acomodi> tcal: it can be both with lxterm as well as tftp. For tftp though a tftp server needs to be set up on the host07:44
sf-slack<timo.callahan> acomodi: i did get the tftp approach to work.   I'm still surprised!   I reconfigured my wireless router to assign my laptop to IP address 192.168.100.100 (wifi) and plugged the arty board into a wired ethernet port, and it worked.   I would still like to figure out the lxterm/serial approach for this gateware+firmware.07:54
sf-slack<acomodi> @timo.callahan I have packed all the necessary to get lxterm to upload the linux images here: https://filebin.net/64kfyg242ijbhxx408:21
tpbTitle: Filebin :: bin 64kfyg242ijbhxx4 (at filebin.net)08:21
sf-slack<acomodi> @timo.callahan by running `python3 lxterm.py --speed 115200 --images images.json /dev/ttyUSBX`  the Images should be uploaded correctly08:23
sf-slack<acomodi> It will take a while though (~10 minutes, probably more)08:24

sf-slack<timo.callahan> acomodi: Thanks, it worked!   I had tried a similar thing before, and just got "[LXTERM] Starting...".   But this time I remembered that I had to hit the "reset" button on the board.   And yes, it took a long time, maybe 30 minutes --- longer than my earlier attempts.   Maybe I was using an old USB cable that didn't support 3.0 or something like that.    This Linux/sh  is nicer than the litex-buildenv version16:59
sf-slackthat I loaded over internet --- color "buildroot# " prompt rather than just a "# " prompt.16:59
sf-slack<acomodi> @timo.callahan Great to hear that. Yeah, ethernet loading is definitely the best thing to use. And yeah, looks better with the colored `buildroot#` prompt :)17:02
