solydzajsveelck: you can learn a lot of python just by reading style guide :-)07:28

Meriosolydzajs: ping11:30
solydzajsHi Merio11:30
MerioHi :) GMap is roughly working (even if not in the correct place ;)), but I've a problem: GMap API returns the name of the country as localized (So "Italia" instead of "Italy"). I've the country code "IT", but I can't select the correct country in the select cause the values are the English names of the countries11:33
Meriosolydzajs: can the country codes be outputted in the "value" attribute (if it does not break anything, and if we have it in the database)?11:34
solydzajsyou shouldn't update text fields values11:35
MerioWell, it's a feature I was thinking about... if you drag the marker I can reverse geocoding the latlon11:35
solydzajsMerio, nope I wouldn't do that since in some places GMaps doesn't have good coverage11:36
MatthewWilkesThere are architectural issues there, firstly the GAE fields don't fully match the Django spec, so you can't pass in a tuple of (value, display) tuples, and secondly not all the "countries" we have available have ISO3166 codes11:36
solydzajsMerio: and we have students from around the world11:36
MerioOtherwise one who is filling the edit boxes, watching the map, would think that his filling has ended11:36
MatthewWilkes(The french overseas départements, like La Réunion, for example)11:37
MerioOk so no reverse geocoding, simpler than I thought ;)11:37
solydzajsyep ;-) no reverse geocoding ;-)11:37
solydzajsthx11:37
solydzajsMerio: I updated issue 137 with a comment11:40

tpb<http://ln-s.net/2j$A> (at code.google.com)11:40
Meriosolydzajs: yes, I've seen it yesterday, but I was exploring some possible features11:44
solydzajsMerio: ok sure :-)11:44
Meriosolydzajs: </hacking_for_fun> ;)11:46
solydzajsMerio: we also need to make latitude and longitude fields hidden, but I will do it when you finish11:49
Meriosolydzajs: even if not in the correct template I've already added and updating for test11:49
solydzajsMerio: ok :-) nice11:50
Meriosolydzajs: to test the js do you want an alert of the two fields (or a console.debug if using Firebug)?11:51
solydzajsMerio: we will also add sections to the profile page so the map should be on the right side of the address fields I think11:52
solydzajsMerio: do I need any of that ? Can't you just update latitude and longitude fields ?11:52
Meriosolydzajs: yes, I was meaning just for testing purpose :) However the JS is almost ready, will spend time on template tweaking :)11:54
solydzajsMerio: ok ping whenever you need me11:55
Meriosolydzajs: ok, thank you11:56
