sajattackanyone around?02:38
sajattackI guess most of you are german time zone?03:28
Claudesajattack: morning . I took the versa_ecp5 target and adjusted that to my board05:38
sajattackhmm I guess it's a bit different for me since none of the existing altera boards have ddram afaik05:38
ClaudeWhich board do you target ?05:41
sajattackde10 nano05:41
ClaudeHmm the DDR is connected to the arm side/hps on that . Right05:42
sajattackit's both afaik05:42
sajattacknot really sure05:42
sajattackI know usb and ethernet is directly connected to the hps and only the hps05:43
sajattackbut I thought ddram was shared05:43
ClaudeIirc there is an article on the altera wiki how to map the hps to the FPGA side05:43
ClaudeBut hps is , as far as I know, a hard macro ddr3 control05:44
ClaudeController05:44
sajattacklet me check something05:44
sajattackyeah it looks like you might be right05:46
sajattackany idea how I get memory for linux-on-litex-vexriscv then?05:48
sajattackI'm a bit confused why the de10 manual would list the pins for the ddr3 if it's only connected to hps05:49
ClaudeI think you need an axi wrapper , accessing the hps bridge from the FPGA side05:51
ClaudeBut not really sure, never did anything with the SoC cyclone 5 . Only with the regular variant05:52
sajattacksounds over my head05:52
ClaudeYou might can get some inspiration from the "mister" project , afaik they use on the Amiga core the ddr3 as memory05:53
sajattackyeah they use it for genesis too05:54
sajattackI was checking if they had it assigned to pins like I do05:55
sajattackand they don't05:55

ClaudeYes at least for the Amiga core they access the ddr3 trough hps/axi . They added a sdram chip on a expansion board for the actual Amiga implementation because it latency of the DDR is too high09:03
sajattackyes09:03
sajattackI have a mister sdram board but I don't want to put it in my pr because it's not part of the board09:04
sajattackbut I'm not sure I can shoehorn hps ddr3 in either09:13

gruetzkopfClaude: where are you getting pcmcia card cases these days? ( also: a600, right ?)12:39
Claudegruetzkopf: a friend got me some from China12:41
ClaudeStill need to figure out how to get more of them :)12:42
gruetzkopfi have a local source for slots that has like 750 pcb mount connectors and 10k card slots in stock for 0.14€/pair12:54
gruetzkopfwidest tape of parts i've seen so far12:54
gruetzkopfbut nothing for card cases12:55

Claudepollin :)13:00
gruetzkopf;)13:00
gruetzkopfbut both that and the female connector are easily found on alibaba, the metal case isn't :(13:03
Claudeyes my buddy in china had to hunt for it as well13:05
Claudehmmmmm16:04
Claudeis there a way to set unused IOs on a ECP5 into e.g. input mode ?16:05
daveshahThey default to input with a pull down. There is no setting to change this in Trellis atm16:06
Claudeok thats perfect then for me, was just not sure what value/direction they have16:06
daveshahThis should also be the case even if no bitstream is loaded16:11
