xobssynaption: I used a company recommended by my CM -- Mulltech.  However, they're having a ton of issues making PCBs.  Turns out Fomu is a challenge to make.03:42
xobsHG + ENIG + edge plating + 4-layer blind-buried.  I think it's the HG that's the issue.03:42
xobsOh, plus 0.1mm traces.03:42
xobsIf I were to do it over again I'd go with http://www.kingcredie.com/ but only because I know them, and they're amenible to doing weird things.03:43
tpbTitle: King Credie | Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Manufacturing | Online Quote (at www.kingcredie.com)03:43
xobsBut you might try pcbway. They claim to be able to do it, and they have a reasonable interface.03:43
LWKHG??06:27

xobsHard gold. If you don't use hard gold, then it's only rated for around 200 insertion cycles. I want your Fomus to last.06:35
synaption[m]thanks.  I was actually reading bunnies blog and he said he used king credie for everything except laser drilled microvias06:35
xobsBut HG makes it difficult to solder to it, so they mask it off.06:35
synaption[m]but maybe that info is out dated06:35
xobssynaption: they do laser drilled now!06:36
synaption[m]Min Laser Drilling = 0.1mm looks like06:36
synaption[m]small enough?06:36
synaption[m]neat06:36
xobsYep! I quoted Fomu there. They'd do Fomu, but without the masking.06:37
ssbhi! How would you guys suggest to connect to Fomu's pads?  I want to use them all for a SDR receiver, but do not want to solder ).  Make a tiny jig with pogo pins and attach it somehow to the case?07:15
ssbor not worth the effort and just solder it (and buy some more Fomus+)07:17

* synaption[m] sent a long message: < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/v1/download/matrix.org/dAweiyxFewAeONjluAMKFTUv >08:01
synaption[m]I seem to have fixed the error I was having earlier08:01
synaption[m]and I made a PR08:02
synaption[m]now I'm not seeing the buttons do anything..  are they just hard to "press"?08:02
MadHackerssb: Solder and buy more fomus; if you want another way to make a connection, spring-loaded test clips should sit nicely in the mouse-bites at the edges of the pads.08:15
MadHackerhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/Oiyagai-Single-Electronic-Testing-Colors/dp/B07CJ5YWDP/ something like these (not a specific product recommendation, just something in that style)08:16
ssbMadHacker, ok, thanks!08:20
MadHackerIf you're feeling adventurous, you could make your own fomus into your board; the schematic and PCB layout is open source. Manufacturing is a little awkward because of the small package size, but it's doable.08:21
synaption[m]NVM, I got the buttons to work using a wire.  I guess I thought it would work with a finger08:51
MadHackerTry a wet finger.10:37
MadHacker:)10:37
