felix_it seems that the S25FL127SABMFI10 is the only flash chip that is listed in the list of supported 3.3v spi nor flashs for current vivado and available at digikey o_O18:18

felix_might be worth a try to test if it can also work with a smaller winbond flash (32Mbit are sufficient; the chip currently used is 128Mbit) after the initial board bringup18:39
felix_directly using a chip that isn't listed as working might not be the best idea...18:39
Kjetilas long as it is compatible with the timing specification and the read waveforms it should work as a boot device. Writing is a bit more special18:44
KjetilI guess it is more a question if it is worth the hassle18:44
felix_yep18:47
felix_the part number for the oscillator is also updated19:00
felix_now it has better frequency stability (doesn't really matter, since it's not for the video clock domain) and extended commercial temperature range instead of industrial one19:01
felix_hmm, i wonder how to add things like voltage range for capacitors in kicad. that's something that works better in altium19:05
felix_but tbh: i probably won't move from kicad to altium; that tool also has quite a lot of nasty bugs. if some other customer wants me to do things in altium, they'll have to provide me a license ;P19:07
